Based on the Mitsubishi Sigma/Diamante and sharing their transverse-mounted DOHC 3.0-liter, 24-valve V-6 engine, the Mitsubishi 3000GT was marketed in Japan as the GTO. In North America, the vehicle was sold as the Mitsubishi 3000GT (1991-99) and, with select styling revisions, as the Dodge Stealth (1991-96). The ultimate version of the 3000GT was the twin-turbo VR-4 with full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD). Performance was formidable in all relevant disciplines, with 0-to-60 mph acceleration in 6.3 seconds, the quarter-mile in 14.7 seconds, and a top speed nearing 160 mph. Mitsubishi's class-leading rear-wheel steering system heightened the stellar handling and grip delivered by the 3000GT VR-4.
